Update!

I finally started skinning my character for Advanced Visualisation today. It's not as painful as I thought it was going to be...however I have not moved her yet. I definitely prefer Maya's method of applying weight to Max's method. I'll probably have another update tomorrow complaining about how awful skinning is and how I don't want to do it anymore once she doesn't move how I want her to! haha

It's a hand!!

Advanced Interaction - 3D Images

Here are some images from Maya of my cinema foyer that I am working on. I finally have a colour scheme after trying loads of different colours. Just need to find a colour scheme for the screens now! The lighting is still a work in progress but hopefully the lights can be loaded into XNA!

Creepy Girl

Here is an image of the creepy girl I am working on for my animation in Advanced Visualisation. She is how I wanted her to look with her button nose (I have yet to make her eyes) etc but she is 203,000 poly's!! and that is only half of her! So I am going to have to work at getting that number down before I rig and skin her :(

Advanced Visualisation

In this module I have to create a 15-30second animation with a charcter who say's 2 words. My animation is about a creepy girl who is sitting at her desk colouring in and when the camera comes up behind her she gets up and goes over to her "fort", she peers inside and then looks at the camera and says "he's here". The camera then goes into the fort and there is no one there. Another thing I have to do for this module is create 6 different expressions using a facial rig supplied.

I've done a lot of research on "creepy girls" and found that they all have long dar hair and so I have designed my character with the same hair, I have also given her huge eyes to add to the creepy factor.

So far all I have done is model the bedroom and I am working on the girl as I write this. I plan to have the model of the girl finished by the end of today and then I can start the painful process of rigging and skinning..but it will be worth it in the end...she says. Here are some pictures of what I have done so far...

Advanced Interaction

For this module I have to create an interactive piece in xna. I decided to make a cinema where you can walk into screens and view trailers of movies that are out now or coming soon and if you want to see that film at your local cinema then you just walk to box office and you can purchase a ticket for your local cinema. I was also thinking about things like age restrictions..eg if you are 12 and wanting to see a trailer for a cert 15 movie then you will not be allowed to walk into the screen without putting in a password or something.

Had a bad day yesterday with this module because I discovered that I lost my maya file of my foyer and retail...however I spent a few hours and remade the whole thing and it turned out better than the first one so I am happy with the result :D Here are some pictures of what I have done so far...
